Chapter 9 in an Brazilian magazine! • 05.08.10
Yeah!
I did it, without any will, that’s called glory and fame! Well, wait a minute, it’s a tiny tiny appearance in a Brazilian magazine, not that it’s not great, it’s just that it’s not talking strictly about Chapter 9!
You know I already told you about “Folk This Town”, the collective that promotes Folk in São Paulo. Well, the Brazilian magazine Epoca, in one of his reviews, mentions the collective and the illustration is taken from their latest show, featuring… Chapter 9 !
So, yeah, I’m appearing in a magazine! Check it out here.
Love,
Marc
Obrigado! • 03.05.10
Well,
I don’t believe there were any English speaking people in the crowd yesterday night, but who knows!
I loved it.
Gonna repeat that on a more frequent basis.
Thanks to the guys from Folk this Town!

Someone told me I was going to perform at Crackolandia • 02.22.10
I love being told things that are funny.
This is a funny one. I’m going to perform at Crack-o-land. In other terms, in the dodgiest place of Downtown São Paulo. It’s as if I was going to gig in 1980s’ Camden Town.
Let me just tell you all that I CAN’T WAIT !!!
And screw the people who won’t show up because of this *detail*
Love (and peace, and rock’n'roll)

Damien Rice, Glen Hansard, Once (upon a time in Irland) • 02.05.10
As I was at a friend’s house during a week night, filling up the belly with the usual beer, it came naturally that I needed to take my friend’s iPod for a listening session. I started my Dj-ing putting some Beatles, of course, and as the party slowly slowed to a more chilly-ambient-serious conversation kind of thing, I decided to set some of Damien Rice’s songs from the album “O”. All were agreeing that the guy had a way to dissect the feelings and make his songs very emotional.
For me, it was quite different. Each and every time I listen to those Irish folk guys I feel like I’m in Ireland. It’s impressing me everytime to hear how the guys sing the big picture. You can see Ireland. You can feel Ireland by listening to Irish songs.
I’ve never been there. I’ve never been to Ireland and I can almost feel and touch Irish landscapes. Fascinating how the music gives you a real impression.
Of course, I have other images, like “Once“, the film that starred Glen Hansard (another cool Irish folk guy) trying to make it in the great Dublin. Well the story is more complicate than just the plot of a musician trying to make it for real, but the most important are the pictures on the music. The cold ; The clothes ; The atmosphere ; The light. Beautiful movie.
I can only recommend that you watch it. GO !
Marc
