C’est les vacances pour vous, alors je ne vous importune pas trop longtemps. De mon côté, les démarches pour le départ au Brésil me prennent pas mal de mon temps libre, je vous épargne les détails.
Après un café dans le jardin du Studio de Meudon, pour lequel bosse Julien, nous avons pris la décision de sortir deux formats, en décalé, évidemment, l’un étant dans les starting blocks, et l’autre exigeant un tout petit peu plus de temps pour le sortir.
Dance Dance Dance, le single
Le single comprendra les chansons annoncées ici et la pochette sera bien la même. Il sera disponible sur ce site et sur d’autres plate-formes… A priori fin juillet vous l’aurez pour l’emporter avec vous en vacances aoutiennes.
Un album de chansons acoustiques
C’est un peu un cadeau de départ que nous avons décidé de vous réserver. Histoire de faire en sorte que la surprise soit la plus totale je ne communiquerai pas sur les chansons présentes, vous devrez patienter pour cela la rentrée de septembre !
L’album sera un mix de différentes sessions, dont la plupart ont eu lieu chez Julien lui même, d’autres en compagnie de Thibaut, et enfin certaines réalisées avec Louis. Ce sera un patchwork auquel on va essayer d’apporter de la cohérence pour que vous en appréciiez l’ordre sur votre lecteur, iPhone, whatever.

This is the official announcement of my leaving to Brazil. I know you’re not in France, as you don’t read French (otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this, would you?) so you should not be affected by this departure. My leaving doesn’t mean me quitting music forever. I should still be producing material on a regular basis, with less instruments though. The challenge for me is to reconstruct something ‘lighter’ to handle in Sao Paulo, because I won’t have much time to promote the band etc. So it will be more about music than promotion, more about guitar & vocals than full band things. You never know, though, I might meet some great gifted musicians to play with and have facilities to record songs in shot periods of time… Time will tell!
So, to get back to the subject, I’m going to release on this website (and maybe other platforms as well) a single and an album. The single will be Dance! Dance! Dance! and it’ll contain these songs (link to : http://chapter9.fr/WordPress/la-tres-probable-pochette-du-single-dance-dance-dance-its-very-likely-that-the-cover-art-of-dance-dance-dance-single-will-look-like-this/ ). I’m excited to see the results, the sound engineer I work with (Julien) is going to work on a mix in a professional studio. The other songs on the single will be more ‘rough’, demo-like. The single will be released at the beginning of August.
The other album will be acoustic, mostly, and it’ll contain « guitar & voice » songs, other songs being recorded with piano, and other instruments will also appear on the album. It’ll be released in September, hopefully.
Those two materials will allow me to focus on brand new songs and composition. Brazil should inspire me to develop a whole new range of arrangements and melodies.
In the meantime, I can only recommend you to check out Wilco’s latest DVD to date, Ashes of American Flags: it’s an example of how great a band SHOULD play live.
